MS Server / Exchange Server / SBS (Small
Business Server)
I have a business with
a Windows Network (Windows Server 2000 or above, Windows
Exchange Server, Windows Small Business Server).
How can SME Backup help me
secure my business?
SME Backup can backup to a remote server all the
data and server based setting (System State, Active
Directory) from your server.
You install the SME Windows client on the server
and select the various elements to be backed up and
associate each with a schedule. The system will then
automatically back up your data at the scheduled time.
Can it back up my System
State?
Yes - A dataset can be easily set up to backup your
System State and all account and other windows setting
(Active Directory). You require the Exchange Server
agent to backup these elements of a Windows installation.
Can SME Backup secure
my exchange emails?
Yes - You simple set up a backup set to include the
selected mailboxes you require. SME Backup offers
you the mailboxes from a list to be selected. You
pay a small additional charge for mailboxes based
on the number of accounts (in-boxes) required.
Can SME Backup secure
my data files?
Yes - One or more data sets can be set up, each with
its own schedule and full rules set, to backup any
or all of your data. If you require to backup certain
databases, which generally remain open and require
an additional agent, there will be a small extra cost
incurred.
What does it cost to
run SME Backup on a Windows Network?
The cost is split into several easy to understand
elements. First you pay for the amount of data on
the remote server (this is compressed data so will
be less, often significantly less, than the raw data
as stored on your server). You will also pay for any
server and database agents required and for Outlook/Exchange
mailboxes - the cost of these and the initial set
up is detailed on the prices
page.
We have multiple sites?
Not a problem. SME Backup can be deployed in a number of ways.
One account can be shared over several computers on the same or different sites. This does introduce some small procedural requirements during set up and when datasets are amended.
Alternatively, you can utilise seperate accounts for each computer and/or site. The total capacity used between all sites is used to calculate the price, i.e. you benefit from buying more data, the one-off set up fee applies to each account and the Windows server and database fees apply for each configuration. Mailboxes, like data, are cumulative thus saving over single account rates.
How do we pay for the service?
Payment is by direct debit. A direct debit form is
available from the download centre. The total monthly
fees due are collected on or after the 5th of the month
to which they apply. Any set up fees, amendments, or other
charges, will be collected with next monthly payment.
How long is the contract?
Unlike most of our competitors, we do NOT tie you in to any contract. All we ask is that you give us 30 days' notice of termination.
If for any reason you are not happy with the service, we ask that you first talk to us and we will endeavour to resolve any issues. In the unlikely event that that you are not satisfied with our resolution, or your circumstances have changed and you no longer require the service, you can cancel by giving us only 30 days' notice.
In a nutshell, if you are not happy, we have no desire to keep you tied down or to charge exorbitant release fees. Better to part as friends than as enemies leaving bitter taste.
